The Columbian gay bar is a large venue at the start of the gay scene on Oxford Street offering a large bar on ground level with a lounge bar upstairs, regular entertainment from live jazz to drag shows, a mixed crowd of all ages well worth a visit to start your night out.
The MAIN BAR
Situated on the ground floor providing panoramic views of Oxford St, the Main Bar is the perfect place to meet friends and strangers for a drink to start your night out. During the week you can enjoy an eclectic mix of music videos, and Thursday through Sunday the best of Sydney’s DJ talents. This is the bar that never sleeps…almost!
The LOUNGE BAR
With an array of cocktails and carefully selected music policies varying from Thursday through to Sunday, the Lounge Bar on Level 1 caters to those with discerning tastes. From evening into late night, the lights go down and the cocktail lounge transforms into a dance floor with DJs and lighting creating a late night party atmosphere. Start your night with Cocktail Happy Hour from 6:00-8:30 PM.

The traditional centre of queer life has been Oxford Street in Darlinghurst. It is still one of the most popular strips at night for partying.
Nearby Potts Point and Elizabeth Bay have become the home to the smart party set.
North Bondi is home to the popular gay beach. Head inland a bit and you come to trendy Newtown.
